JONESBORO, Ark. — The Jonesboro man accused of running over four people with his car last week has now been formally charged with murder.
Second Judicial District Court Judge Chris Thyer found probable cause Tuesday to charge Michael Vincent Coleman, 43, with first-degree murder, three counts of attempted first-degree murder, second-degree battery on a law enforcement officer, killing or injuring an animal used by a law enforcement agency, fleeing and resisting arrest.
Coleman was arrested last Thursday following the incidents at the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Harrisburg Road and Craighead Forest Park.
One of the four victims, Belinda Adams, 63, of Jonesboro, was an employee of the Walmart store. She died Monday at a Memphis hospital.
Coleman remains in the Craighead County Detention Center in lieu of $5 million bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 9 in Craighead County Circuit Court.
