WYNNE — A Wynne man is being held in the Craighead County Detention Center in Jonesboro after police said he was found to be in possession of a stolen vehicle in the Wynne area.
Capt. Daniel Getchell of the Wynne Police Department said officers were notified by Jonesboro police that 46-year-old Christopher Reed was in possession of the stolen vehicle.
That vehicle was observed by Wynne police traveling southbound on Highway 64 Spur and Reed was taken into custody. Reed was transferred to the custody of the Jonesboro Police Department and the vehicle was returned to its owner.
Reed is charged with theft of vehicle valued at less than $25,000 but greater than $5,000.
In a separate incident, 57-year-old Steven Humphrey was taken into custody by Wynne police last Friday following a routine traffic stop.
Humphrey was arrested for a failure to appear warrant and refusal to submit a driver’s license. During a search of his person and vehicle, officers reportedly found a pill bottle containing oxycodone and hydrocodone, which are both Schedule I or II controlled substances.
Humphrey has been released from the Cross County Detention Center on charges of driving on a suspended driver’s license, possession of a controlled substance, and failure to appear.
