Gary Wayne Stephens, 67, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at his home in Forrest City. He had been in poor health for the past several years.
Gary was born Sept. 5, 1958, in Forrest City, and was the son of Homer Stephens and Mary Lou Milton Stephens. He lived in St. Francis County all of his life, was a carpenter, a Veteran of the Army, and a Baptist.
Gary is survived by one son, Cody Allen Douglas, and wife, Stephanie, of Stella, North Carolina; one brother, Danny Stephens of Forrest City; one sister, Marie Bottini Stephens of Jasper, Arkansas; and five grandchildren, including Savannah, Matthew, and Adeline. He had one daughter, Angel; two brothers, Henry Stephens and Ricky Stephens; two sisters, Bertha Smitherman and Mary Francis Dawson, who all preceded him in death.
Gary’s wishes were to be cremated. A visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026, from 2-3 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. You may log on to stevensfuneralhome.net for the online registry.
