Rebecca “Becky” Dunn Dixon was born on Jan. 26, 1945, and passed away surrounded by loved ones on Oct. 18, 2026. She was born to peach farmers Dalton and Esma (Caubble) Dunn. Her fondest memories were of growing up in the Summersweet area of Crowley’s Ridge. She often told stories about the many adventures she and her sisters shared and the mischief they found themselves in.
A lifelong resident of Cross County, Rebecca raised her three children here: sons, Phillip and Christopher Ellis, and daughter, D.D. Dixon. Her favorite pastimes included squirrel hunting and fishing, but she had a passion for anything involving antiques. After retiring early from Reliable Life Insurance Company, she opened her own antique store and took pride in restoring antiques. Rebecca also ventured into construction projects and, later in life, took great pride in being an in-home caregiver.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Dalton and Esma Dunn; her sister, Betty Wizer; and her grandson, Hayden West.
She is survived by her sons, Phillip (Donna) Ellis and Christopher (Lisa) Ellis; her daughter, D.D. Dixon; her sister, Patsy Zuck; and her grandchildren, Aundrea Ellis, Zachary Ellis, Madelyn Ellis, Logan West, Aubrey Cantrell, Paisley Ellis, Caleb Capps, Chelsey Buttry, Addy Hooten, Wheeler Buttry, Whitley Buttry, and Paxton Capps. She also leaves behind her beloved four-legged companion, Winston, and many nieces and nephews she loved dearly.
Rebecca was proud of her children and loved them beyond measure, but her eyes would twinkle whenever she spoke of her grandchildren. They truly were her pride and joy, and she took every opportunity to brag about and show off her grands. She often joked that if she had known how much she would love them, she would have had her grandkids before her kiddos.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, at Harris Chapel Cemetery in Wynne, Arkansas.
