A leaking roof shouldn’t cost someone their home. But for many low- to moderate-income homeowners in rural Arkansas, that’s exactly the kind of repair that slips out of reach when traditional lenders aren’t an option.
Communities Unlimited (CU) offers Home Improvement Loans to residents across over 30 Arkansas counties. The program offers loans up to $3,500 with a two-year term at 10% APR, with no collateral required and no credit score minimum.
Eligible repairs include leaking roofs, HVAC systems, flooring, mold remediation, and other critical fixes that affect health and safety. Eligible Arkansas counties include: Arkansas, Ashley, Bradley, Calhoun, Chicot, Clay, Cleveland, Columbia, Craighead, Crittenden, Cross, Desha, Drew, Greene, Hempstead, Jackson, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lee, Lincoln, Little River, Miller, Mississippi, Monroe, Nevada, Ouachita, Phillips, Poinsett, Prairie, St. Francis, Union, and Woodruff.
To qualify, applicants must demonstrate proof of homeownership and a debt-to-income ratio at or below 40%. Proof of on-time payments may be requested in place of a credit check.
