WYNNE — The Wynne Kiwanis Club’s annual Pancake Day will be held on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.
“We raise money by selling pancake tickets. You can buy the tickets in advance from Kiwanis members. They are $8. That’s for all you care to eat. Preschool children get to eat free,” said Fred Strasser, Pancake Day coordinator for the Wynne Kiwanis Club. “We also sell table sponsorships at our pancake breakfast. For $150, a business can put their business logo at the center of our table. They get eight tickets along with that $150.
“Another way (we raise money) is through our silent auction,” Strasser added. “We have people donate items. Some from stores. Sometimes we’ll have baked items. Cakes, pickles, Annette Simmons has always donated pickles. Our mayor has baked a cake for us for the past few years. We put it out there. It’s a silent auction, which means you come up and you put down your bid. About 6 p.m., we shut down the auction.”
The hours are from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the First Assembly of God Family Life Center.
The First Assembly of God is located at 1900 N. Killough Road.
It’s $8 for all-you-can-eat with preschool children eating free.
