Arkansas Farm Bureau announces 2024 Rice is Nice, Dairy Food contests

CROSS COUNTY — Applications are now available for Arkansas Farm Bureau’s 2024 Rice is Nice and Dairy Food contests. The contests will be held on Tuesday, June 11, and are open to youth ages 9 to 19 or students in the 4th through 12th grades.

The Dairy Foods contest will start at 10 a.m. The dish may be dropped off by 9 a.m. at the Cross County Courthouse. Each contestant should bring their dairy foods dish and leave it with the judges. Dishes should be brought in a disposable cup or bowl, which will be enough for the judges to sample. Contestants should bring a total of three samples.

The Rice is Nice contest will start at 2 p.m., but dishes may be dropped off by 1 p.m. Contestants should be prepared to answer questions about their rice dish asked by the judges. Dishes should be dropped off at the Cross County Courthouse and winners will be announced later that day.

For more information or a copy of the rules, visit the Cross County Farm Bureau office in Wynne, 1880 N. Falls Blvd., or the Cross County Extension office inside the courthouse.
