CHERRY VALLEY — Fourth graders at Cross County Elementary School are working to create a service learning garden.
The students recently built raised garden beds and are now getting their first seeds into the ground.
The students planted radishes, which will be ready for harvest before winter arrives.
The school said the garden allows students to learn through hands-on experiences, practice teamwork, take responsibility, and grow their “Creatures of Character” values along with the plants.
