WYNNE — Wynne’s Makel Ward has been ranked as the number two defensive tackle in the state, according to the Arkansas Athlete Report.
The independent scouting outlet recently named Ward among the top five defensive tackles in Arkansas high school football. He trails Eli Thornton of Valley View, who is committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Others making the top five list are Antwone Miller of Pine Bluff at No. 3, Aaden Franklin of Monticello No. 4, and DJ Williams of Little Rock Christian at No. 5.
Ward was part of the Cross County Thunderbirds’ defensive which helped lead the T-Birds to the Class 2A state title one year ago. He is returning to Wynne – along with Caden Crawford – for his senior season.
