Wynne Primary School staff will hold registration for students who will be entering kindergarten this year on March 5-6, 2024 at Wynne Primary School. Wynne Primary School is located at 1500 North Lemons Street in Wynne. Registration will be held in the school library from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. during these two days. Additionally, there will be two evening registration times from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on March 5 and March 6, 2024. Children who will be five years old by Aug. 1, 2024, should be enrolled in kindergarten. Parents may choose to delay kindergarten if their child will not be six years old on September 1, 2024, by filing a kindergarten waiver, which is available in the superintendent’s office. Children are welcome to attend registration with their parents; however, parents may enroll their children without them being present. The following items are needed for enrollment in kindergarten:
- Original birth certificate or allowable documentation of age
- Social Security card or waiver request
- Immunization record
- Documentation of a physical or well child exam within two years prior to enrollment or within ninety days of a child’s enrollment in kindergarten
- Medical documentation for asthma, sting or food allergies, or seizures
- Proof of residency (two current utility bills showing parent or guardian’s name and address or a current real estate property tax receipt or rent/lease agreement and one current utility bill)
- ARKids card if the student has ARKids health care
Other forms that may be printed from the website and brought to registration include nurse forms for documentation of asthma, sting or food allergies, and seizures. Parents who do not have all the required documents are asked to come to registration so that the school district can plan for the needed number of teachers and classes and students can participate in the summer screening program. School staff members will provide information and assistance in obtaining any needed documents. All students who are registered for kindergarten are invited to a half-day screening program on June 10-12, 2024. Parents who attend registration will select the day and time for their child to attend the program.
For parents who cannot attend kindergarten registration, an online pre-registration form will become available after Kindergarten Registration, on March 7, on the district website at www.wynneschools.org. The form is located under the News section or it may also be found by clicking the Parents/Students Tab; then click Parent/Student Forms/Kindergarten Online Pre-Registration Form. After filling out the form online, you will be contacted by a counselor to schedule an appointment to register your child for kindergarten and bring in the necessary documents.
