WYNNE — The Wynne Police Department has taken two suspects into custody on drug-related charges in recent days.
Tammy Watlington, 59, was taken into custody yesterday following a traffic stop. The department said a search of the vehicle was conducted due to Watlington being on probation. Officers found an unspecified amount of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia during that search. Watlington is being held on possession of a controlled substance Schedule I or II meth or cocaine (greater than two grams, less than 10 grams), possession of a controlled substance Schedule VI (less than 4 oz.), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers also took Eric Wayne Peeler, 50, into custody around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday after being called to a local bank regarding a man passed out in his vehicle.
Peeler reportedly told police that he had accidentally fallen asleep in his pickup. A search was conducted due to Peeler being on probation. Officers found methamphetamine and related paraphernalia.
Peeler is being held in the Cross County Detention Center on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
