WYNNE — The Wynne Yellowjackets are picked to finish just outside of playoff contention under first-year head coach Randy Coleman. That’s according to Hooten’s Arkansas Football.
Wynne is picked fifth in the 5A East in the annual Hooten’s preseason football rankings.
The Jackets missed the postseason for the first time since 2009 last season, finishing with a 4-6 overall record and a 3-4 mark in 5A East conference play.
The preseason prediction is identical to how the 5A East standings finished last season, with Valley View repeating as conference champions. Nettleton is ranked second, Harding Academy third, Batesville fourth and Wynne fifth.
The bottom three teams in the conference are predicted to be Brookland sixth, Paragould seventh, and Greene County Tech eighth.
The Wynne Yellowjackets will open the Randy Coleman era with a scrimmage Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Osceola. The regular season begins Friday, Aug. 28, at home against Marion. The Jackets open 5A East conference play Friday, Sept. 25, at Brookland. The Jackets’ 2026 football schedule is below:
