Wynne man receives 20-year federal sentence for meth distribution

A Wynne man has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison by U.S. District Judge D. Price Marshall. Marshall sentenced Brandon Farmer in federal court in Jonesboro yesterday.

Farmer, 41, pleaded guilty in October 2023 to one count of distribution of methamphetamine actual. Marshall also sentenced Farmer to five years’ supervised release and a $100 special assessment.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas, Farmer has multiple prior convictions for domestic violence, aggravated assault and battery, drug possession and distribution, and theft. He was indicted in April 2021 on one count of knowingly and intentionally distributing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine actual. Farmer faced up to 10 years to life in prison, a fine of $10 million, and not less than five years’ supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.

According to a release, an individual contacted Farmer by telephone in November 2020 to inquire about purchasing methamphetamine. Farmer advised the individual that he was not home but would return later in the day and could take care of the individual. A controlled purchase of approximately 130.6 grams of methamphetamine actual was made by the individual from Farmer.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Wynne Police Department.
