GOSNELL, Ark. — The Wynne High School Marching Band was named overall grand champion during its first competition of the season, the 2026 Pirate Small Band Invitational Saturday at Gosnell.
High school band director Justin Baggett said the band pushed through the heat and adversity better than they could have imagined.
Along with being overall grand champion, the Wynne High School band was first-place overall, first-place percussion and second-place in color guard in Class 2A-2 and received an overall superior rating.
The band will next compete Saturday, Oct. 3, at Jonesboro High School.
