WYNNE — The Wynne Fumble Club’s third annual preseason banquet is Thursday.
It will be held at the Bill Thomas Tech Center, beginning at 6 p.m.
Pete Moery III is now a member of the Wynne Fumble Club’s board, following in the footsteps of his father, Bryan Moery.
Pete Moery has seen both ends of the Fumble Club, as a player in the 1980s when he played for the 1986 Wynne state championship team and now as a member of the board.
“One of the main reasons I’m a big supporter of Fumble Club is from the experience I got from it in the ’80s,” he said. “When I first got out of college, I just decided that was a way I could be a part of the community. I know what I get rewarded for. I just see players that they know I helped support them and I’ve gotten good relationships with all of them.
“Fumble Club, you can go back and ask any former player and they will tell you one of the special things about playing for Wynne was the experience of the Fumble Club providing the extras for them, the food and the extra shirts, just the things that they needed and the support,” Moery added. “It’s very special. Very few small Delta towns have what we have. It’s a whole lot easier to lose it than it is to build it back up. Fumble Club plays a big role.”
Jason Curry will be the featured speaker at Thursday’s event. New head football coach Randy Coleman and a couple of members of the Wynne 2026 team will speak.
Tickets are $30 each.
