CROSS COUNTY — Wynne Yellowjackets Athletics has welcomed Odell Brown, a former coach at Earle and Marion, as an assistant for the football program.
The district said Brown has over 13 years of experience in education, coaching, and school leadership.
Brown, who is a native of West Memphis, was working as offensive coordinator and associate head coach at Earle prior to coming to Wynne. He has been a part of programs who have won three track and field titles and championships in both girls’ and boys’ basketball. Brown has also coached three different student-athletes who were recognized as the top player in the state.
Brown will be part of the staff of first-year Wynne Yellowjackets coach Randy Coleman. Another new assistant is Tyler Gahr, who is the son of former Wynne Yellowjacket Freddie Gahr. The younger Gahr was the head coach at Jonesboro Westside.
An assistant football coaching position remains open at Cross County High School. Former Wynne Yellowjacket Trevon Holmes, along with Dawson Ingle of Conway Christian have been hired as assistants under new head coach Ty Mimbs.
