WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. — The West Memphis School District has received nearly three quarters of a million dollars from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to repair damage to school buildings sustained from storms in 2025.
FEMA has announced it will send over $24.2 million in post-disaster funding to Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Texas. That funding is coming through the agency’s Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation Grant program.
The West Memphis district received around $740,000 of that amount.
FEMA said it will coordinate with the state of Arkansas for all hazard mitigation projects.
