MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, Ark. — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has identified two people who died in a boating accident last week on the Mississippi River near Sans Souci Landing in Mississippi County.
Daniel Dees, 30, and Robert Harkins, 59, were killed after their boat capsized and became submerged under a river barge around 7:30 p.m. Sept. 20.
Another passenger, Destiny Woods, 26, survived the incident, which remains under investigation.
One of the victims’ bodies was found by the Game and Fish Commission Thursday about five miles downstream of where the incident occurred.
The Osceola Fire Department and Blytheville Emergency Squad were among the units that also responded to the scene.
