Tyronza subdivision plan for 140 homes moves forward

TYRONZA, Ark. — A plan to add 140 homes along I-555 in the Tyronza area is progressing.

The Tyronza City Council has approved the first phase of that project, which calls for homes to be built on 17 lots on seven acres.

Talks on the subdivision first began in October 2024.

City officials said population is growing in the Poinsett County city, along with Trumann, Harrisburg, Marked Tree, and Lepanto.

Officials said Tyronza is in a good spot geographically, as it is located close to Jonesboro and Memphis and is about an hour away from the steel mills in Blytheville and Osceola. It’s also about 30 minutes away from West Memphis, which is gearing up for a data center hosted by Google and possible other economic development.
