HELENA-WEST HELENA, Ark. — The criminal trial for former Helena-West Helena mayor Christopher Franklin has been postponed following a ruling in Phillips County Circuit Court.
Franklin had been scheduled to stand trial this week on criminal and official misconduct charges.
However, First Judicial District Court Judge E. Dion Wilson granted a motion for a continuation.
Franklin was stripped of his mayoral position in July 2025 after being accused of violating city ordinances, failing to comply with state mandates, neglecting vendor payments and failing to pay bills and taxes tied to municipal operations.
