HELENA-WEST HELENA, Arkansas — There has been another deadly shooting related to a prom.
The Arkansas State Police says a man suspected of shooting and killing a Helena-West Helena teenager outside a party following the Helena-West Helena Central High School prom has been arrested.
19-year-old Donterious Stephens is accused of fatally shooting 18-year-old Lorenzo Harrison early yesterday morning. Harrison was a senior at Helena-West Helena. The shooting occurred at an off-campus location.
Stephens faces charges of first-degree murder and possession of firearms by certain persons.
The deadly prom-related shooting comes one week after a shooting in Wynne that killed one, wounded nine, and caused two injuries when individuals were hit by a vehicle fleeing the scene.
Four people were arraigned on various charges in that case and will appear in Cross County Circuit Court the week of May 20.
