EASTERN ARKANSAS — Toolkits are available to parents through the Center for Exceptional Families.

The toolkits are designed to empower parents to be effective advocates for their children by helping them stay organized and prepared for meetings related to their student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan.

The toolkits are binders with tabs for a communication log, IEP or 504 plans, conference notes, student data, related services, medical records, a behavior plan, transition planning and parents’ rights.

Former Wynne High School principal Keith Watson is the parent mentor for the Delta region of the Center for Exceptional Families. He said the toolkits were compiled locally by students at Wynne High School.

The toolkits are available online.
