WYNNE — Three people were taken into custody early this morning as part of a joint investigation between the Wynne Police Department, Cross County Sheriff’s Office, Drug Enforcement Administration and the Arkansas State Police SWAT Team.
Cross County Sheriff David West said the investigation began more than two months ago and resulted in several probation and parole searches in the Wynne area and two search warrants in the city of Parkin.
Sheriff West said several pounds of suspected methamphetamine were seized and a suspect was taken into custody in Parkin. That suspect has been identified as Robert Atkins. West said he was not sure whether Atkins will be detained locally or transported into federal custody.
Methamphetamine and marijuana were also seized at a second location.
