WYNNE — While construction is moving full speed ahead on the pickleball courts in downtown Wynne, the machines were quiet Friday for a very special purpose.
Crews from Wynne-based Jackson Excavating and Construction, which is the contractor for the project, and officials from the city of Wynne welcomed visitors from the Cross County Special Workshop.
The workshop is located directly across Commercial Avenue from the new courts.
The clients were able to learn more about the equipment and the project and received T-shirts from the Jackson family.
First Financial Bank donated land to the city for the pickleball court project. The site was previously home to Maxine White’s Maxi-Mart store.
Work on the site has included the installation of the shade structure over the food court area, and crews are preparing to pour concrete for the courts.
A timeline has not been provided for the project.
