The Arkansas Razorbacks and the Arkansas State Red Wolves both open their seasons this Saturday.
Arkansas will face North Alabama in a game at Fayetteville Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 3:15 p.m.
The game will usher in the Ryan Silverfield era at Arkansas.
“Since the day I took this job, everybody says, ‘Man, you seem to hone in on the details.’ I’m a firm believer of how you do anything is how you do everything,” Silverfield said. “We told the famous story at the opening press conference about the light bulbs and how that bothered me. Talking about the GPA and the spring and doing those things and the academics in the classroom to ultimately can we trust you with 4th-and-1 with the game on the line. The devil’s in the details. If we can control those and be really good at those things in every aspect of our program, ultimately, it’s going to lead to success on Saturdays.”
North Alabama beat Samford 22-10 Saturday and will enter the game with a 1-0 record. The game will be broadcast on Country 92.5, beginning at noon Saturday.
The Ryan Silverfield Show airs at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Arkansas State
Arkansas State will take on the University of Memphis at 6 p.m. Saturday. That game will be broadcast on KWYN AM 1400/FM 102.9/FM 106.9 and the EAB Media Group app. Broadcast time is 4 p.m. Saturday.
“Live with the Red Wolves” with coach Butch Jones airs at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Memphis has a game under their belt, having defeated UNLV in their season opener Saturday. That score was 27-21.
The Tigers outscored the Dan Mullen-led Runnin’ Rebels 20-7 in the second half to overcome a 14-7 halftime deficit.
It was Charles Huff’s first game as the Tigers head coach. Huff replaced Ryan Silverfield, who is now at Arkansas.
