WYNNE — The Cross County Quorum Court will have two special meetings Monday.
The first involves the county’s budget committee and concerns a wind project in the eastern part of Cross County.
“They have brought their proposal so we’re going to schedule a special meeting to go over what they’re asking us and what we want with this new windmill project that’s going into the eastern part of the county,” said Cross County Judge Lynn Blake.
The project will include some 40 wind turbines between Levesque and Parkin, with additional turbines located south of Parkin.
The meeting will be held at noon Monday in the boardroom of the Cross County Courthouse. A special meeting of the full Cross County Quorum Court will be held immediately following and will focus on establishing a county ambulance service contract.
A committee has been studying the future of ambulance service in Cross County as the county considers moving toward a formal service contract.
“All these ambulance services that are considering it will come in, get our RFQs and then two weeks later they’ll send bids back in,” Blake said. “We’ll look over the bids and see if that’s the direction we want to go, what they’re offering, how many ambulances are they offering, the different things that they’re offering.”
The Cross County Quorum Court held its regularly monthly meeting last night. Justices tabled an ordinance for a new position in the Cross County Clerk’s office. They also discussed moving the meeting date of the monthly quorum court meetings. That matter was also tabled until next month.
