Mr. Stanley Hicks of Cherry Valley passed away at his home Aug. 12, 2026.
Stanley was born Oct. 29, 1948, in Parkin, Arkansas, to George and Flossie Hicks. He worked as a truck driver and enjoyed riding horses and working in his yard.
He married Shirley Jean Garland in 1981, and she survives him. His children also survive him, Christie Matthews and husband David of Texas, April Criner and husband Shelton of Stuttgart, Arkansas, Belinda Locke and husband James of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Jeffrey Andrews and wife Brandy of Wynne, Arkansas; his sister, Mary Alice White of Mountain Home, Arkansas; his brothers, Bill Hicks and wife Diane of Tennessee and Rodney Hicks and wife Patsy of Wheatley, Arkansas; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin sister, Sandra Jean Hicks; and his brothers, Marion Hicks and Michael Hicks.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Kernodle Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at Vanndale Cemetery with Rev. Stewart Brooks officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vanndale Cemetery.
