Mr. Robert William Waggoner, better known as “Bobby” and “Bubba,” resident of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas, at the age of 50. Bobby was born in Granger, Utah, on March 22, 1974, the son of Robert Carlton “Bob” Waggoner and Edna Olean (Watson) Leonard.
Bobby was a 1993 graduate of Cross County High School where he loved playing football. He was of the Baptist faith and was baptized at Smith Chapel Baptist Church. He worked at Halstead Industries and in farming with Maurice Stutts. Bobby was a good old-fashioned country boy and avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed training squirrel dogs for Jim Ray and attending squirrel dog competitions. He found joy in fishing, hunting, riding four-wheelers, and running backroads. He took great delight in the time spent with family and friends, especially at cookouts where Bobby always manned the grill or fish cooker. Bobby had the ability to find the good in everyone which earned him a plethora of friends, and he will forever be remembered for his kind and generous character.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Dance.
He is survived by a sister, Nancy Hill, and husband, David, of Vanndale; a sister-in-law, Lonnia Dance of Palestine; best friend, Melissa Lace of Wynne; beloved pet and companion, Stormy; 10 nieces and nephews; 17 great-nieces and nephews; four great-great nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives; and a lifetime of great friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024, in the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Wynne with Bro. Terry Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Vanndale Cemetery.
Friends may visit at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to service time.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are David Hill, Jr., Wally Hill, Jerry Hill, Austin Hill, James Dance, Chris Roberts, Thomas Climer, and Joey Clark. Honorary pallbearers are Will Aunspaugh and Brett Bretherick.
