Obituary: Judy Jones of Patterson

Mrs. Judy Jones, of Patterson, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, March 11, 2024, at her home at the age of 73. Judy was born on Feb. 1, 1951, the daughter of George and Coleen (Adams) Morrison.

Judy and Mr. Chester “Check” Jones were united in marriage on Oct. 21, 1972, and the couple cherished 43 years together prior to Check’s passing in 2016. Judy attended the McCrory Church of the Nazarene, and she was a homemaker all of her life. She was a caregiver to many and a wonderful cook. If you left Judy’s house hungry, it was your own fault. Her family fondly remembers her coconut pie, buttermilk pie, and Mexican chicken casserole. Judy loved time spent with her family, and she enjoyed being outdoors, especially tending to her flowers. Judy also enjoyed attending events at the Woodruff County Senior Center and playing Bingo.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and three brothers, Otto, Monroe, and Richard Morrison.

She is survived by a son, George “Cowboy” Jones and wife, Melissa, of Paragould; two daughters, Mary Ann Jones of McCrory, and Tina Jones and partner, Kidd Clark, of San Angelo, Texas; a sister, Oneda Jones of McCrory; eight grandchildren, Trever Jones, Destiny Boatman, Courtney Jones, Zack Jones, Blake Howard, Beth Moore, Brooke Jones, and Dalton Enzor; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express their eternal gratitude to the special group of caregivers who assisted Mrs. Judy in recent years.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024, in the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in McCrory. Interment will follow in Fakes Chapel Cemetery near McCrory.

Friends may visit at the funeral home from 1 p.m. to service time.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Kidd Clark, Blake Howard, Lee Jones, William Jones, Zack Jones, and Jerry Waters. Honorary pallbearers are George Jones, Mitch Ragan, and Kaden Ragan.
