Grover Lee McKissack died Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro; he was 85.
Grover was born Sept. 30, 1940, in Blytheville, Arkansas, to the late Charline McKissack Sr. and the late Sarah Glover.
Grover leaves to cherish his memory his son, Charles Dewayne Moore of Chicago, Illinois; daughters, Loraine Levesque of Sylvania, Ohio, Cassandra McKissack of Jonesboro, and Selenia Hall, Carla Faye McKissack and Sabrina McKissack, all of Miami, Florida; sisters, Lorraine Barber, Alma Carson and Dorothy McKissack, all of Wynne; a brother, Herman McKissack; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, at Woodard Funeral Service Chapel in Wynne. Interment will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Vanndale. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2026, at the funeral home.
