David Simpson, 85, of Cherry Valley, died on Saturday, March 2, 2024, in Batesville, Arkansas.
David was born in Parkin, Arkansas, on June 27, 1938, to the late Dayton Simpson and Mattie Clark Simpson. He was a retired Arkansas Department of Health State Inspector and a retired supervisor of engineering and the Methodist Hospital. He enjoyed watching wildlife, riding his 4-wheeler, a good meal, and sweets. David loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Wynne Baptist Church.
David is survived by his daughters, Donna Hampton and husband Bobby of Harrisburg, Janet Field of Palestine, Joan Heavener of Wynne, and Pam Tacker and husband Dennis of Lebanon, Tennessee. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Simpson of Horseshoe Lake, ten grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Dayton and Mattie Simpson; sisters, Bertie Simpson and Louise Sisk; and brother, Odis Simpson.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Kernodle Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with burial in Crosslawn Cemetery.
