Cynda Diane Sutherland, 75, of Wynne, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at her home surrounded by family. She was born April 21, 1951, in Wynne, the daughter of Lloyd and Minnie Cooper McCulley. She married Mr. Garry Layne Sutherland on Oct. 24, 1969.
A graduate of Wynne High School, Cynda worked in the cafeteria at Wynne Public Schools for more than 25 years. As her children and grandchildren grew up, she devoted herself to teaching and helping with youth groups. She had a kind, loving heart and enjoyed life, laughter, serving others, and welcoming family and friends into her home for special events and occasions. Her greatest joy was her husband, whom she adored, along with her children and grandchildren. She would do anything for them and was their biggest cheerleader. Cynda leaves an immeasurable hole in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Minnie McCulley; one son, Michael Sutherland; and two sisters, Brenda McCulley and Linda Jones.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Garry Sutherland of Wynne; two sons, Layne Sutherland of Centerton and Jason Sutherland of Delaware, Oklahoma; one daughter, Amber Peevey of Wynne; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to say special thank you to the Legacy Hospice nurses that cared for Cynda for the last year. They took excellent care of her and the family.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, at the Three Trees Cowboy Church. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the church. A private burial will be held later in Crosslawn Cemetery.
