Carolyn Joan Sitzes, 81, of Palestine, died Friday, June 5, 2026, at her home in Palestine. She had been in poor health for the past six months.
Mrs. Sitzes was born May 15, 1945, in Little Rock, and was the daughter of Ernest Watson and Martha Williamson Watson. She lived in St. Francis County all of her life, was a past employee of General Industries, Sanyo, and retired from Walmart, and attended the Twin Assembly of God Church in Palestine.
Mrs. Sitzes married Dearl Sitzes in 1959, and he preceded her in death in 2021. She is survived by two sons, Alan Sitzes of Wallis, Texas, and Derick Sitzes and wife, LeeAnn, of Minden, Louisiana; one daughter, Desha Wright, and husband, Michael, of Palestine; one sister, Maryallen Hullig of Moro; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2026, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Bell Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
