JONESBORO, Ark. — A man wanted in connection with a murder in the Nashville, Tennessee, area was taken into custody by deputies from the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Department after a three-county pursuit.
Lemarkius Ross, 30, of Nashville, is being held in the Crittenden County Detention Center in Jonesboro on the murder warrant, as well as Arkansas charges including fleeing in a vehicle, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, possession of firearms by certain persons, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms and other charges.
District Judge David Boling set a $2 million bond for Ross Friday.
Tennessee court records show Ross was wanted on two counts of first-degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm. Ross was wanted in connection with the March 2024 shooting of two teenagers in the Hermitage area near Nashville.
The pursuit involved officers from the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Department, Poinsett County Sheriff’s Department, Arkansas State Police and the Marion Police Department.
It ended after a state trooper used a tactical vehicle intervention to stop the vehicle around the 35-mile marker on I-555. The vehicle overturned several times and caught fire.
Authorities were able to remove Ross from the vehicle. He reportedly gave them a false name at the time of his arrest. The suspect was also found to be in possession of marijuana and suspected methamphetamine.
