CHERRY VALLEY — The Cross County High School Ag Student of the Month for May is 17-year-old James McClain.
McClain, a junior, was nominated by Jackson Poe, agricultural science teacher/FFA advisor.
McClain has been involved in FFA for three years. His parents are Kayce McClain and Kirk McClain. He is on the A-B Honor Roll.
As part of community service, McClain helped with the clean-up from last year’s tornado in the Wynne area and donated canned food to the food drive. He plays center on the football team at Cross County. He has been part of the Thunderbirds football team for eight years.
After graduation, he plans to attend the Greenway tech program or the Love’s truck program as a diesel mechanic. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and riding around with friends.
The Cross County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee presented McClain with a certificate, a T-shirt, and a cup for his accomplishment.
