Louisiana music show and Cajun buffet set for Saturday at the Ozark Folk Center

GRAMMY Award-winning Cajun accordion player and fiddler, Wilson Savoy, will perform at Ozark Highlands Theater with the Pine Leaf Boys this Saturday, September 12 at the Ozark Folk Center State Park.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Ark. — The Ozark Folk Center State Park will host a “Louisiana Saturday Night” music show featuring Cajun and zydeco music trio, the Pine Leaf Boys, this Saturday, Sept. 12, at the park’s indoor music venue, Ozark Highlands Theater, beginning at 7 p.m. The evening show will feature GRAMMY Award-winning vocalist, fiddler and accordionist Wilson Savoy, son of acclaimed Cajun musicians Marc and Ann Savoy.

The music will kick off at 7 p.m. with Ozark Folk Center State Park Square Dancers and a special performance by the Music Roots Ensemble featuring talented young musicians from the Music Roots program in Mountain View.

The Skillet Restaurant will serve a Cajun-style buffet before the show from 4-7 p.m., featuring jambalaya, Cajun rice, gumbo, cornbread, blackened catfish, smoked sausage, red beans and rice, buttered rolls, bread pudding, and one-trip salad bar. The all-you-can-eat meal is $16.

The event is proudly sponsored by Stone Bank.

“Stone Bank has deep roots in Stone County and a long history of supporting the Ozark Folk Center and Ozark Highlands Radio,” says park coordinator Keith Symanowitz. “They are proud to contribute to the ongoing legacy of folk music in the community by sponsoring the Music Roots program and events like this. They’re very proud of all the students who are interested in carrying on the Ozarks’ time-honored traditions and look forward to hearing them at this showcase each year.”

Advance tickets for “Louisiana Saturday Night” on Sept. 12 are $8 for children (6-12 years old), $15 for adults, and $35 for a family pass, which includes admission for two adults and children under 18. Day-of tickets purchased at the theater cost $2 more. Tickets are available online at Tickets.OzarkFolkCenter.com. Ozark Folk Center Music & Craft Season Passes will be honored at the event. The Cajun buffet at the Skillet Restaurant is sold separately.
