HARRISBURG, Ark. — Lake Poinsett in Harrisburg is teeming with bream.
That’s according to Lake Poinsett State Park Superintendent Jonathan Wagner.
Wagner said most bream have been around 20 to 25 feet from the shoreline in around five to six feet of water. He said catfish have also been biting off the northwestern shoreline and on the north end of the lake.
Wagner said there have also been reports of bass between three and five pounds.
It is noted that the bait shop at the Lake Poinsett State Park Visitor Center is facing a live bait shortage. Live bait will be sold while supplies last. The shortage is expected to last about a month.
