Baseball T-Birds fall to Rector; Wynne soccer splits games with Heber Springs

JONESBORO, Arkansas — The Wynne softball team is the top-seeded team heading into the 4A-3 district tournament tomorrow at Jonesboro Westside.

The Lady Jackets will not play until next Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Jackets have secured a regional tournament site with that tournament next week at Pulaski Robinson.

The baseball Jackets are seeded third in the district. They’ll play the winner of the Jonesboro Westside/Trumann game at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. They’ll need a win in that game to secure a spot in the regional tournament. Westside and Trumann will play on Monday at 6:30 p.m.

The tournament begins tomorrow with the eighth and ninth seeds in both the softball and baseball tournaments playing. There will be two games on Monday – the fifth seed playing the winner of Saturday’s games and the sixth and seventh seeds playing each other – with two more games on Tuesday. The semi-finals are on Thursday with the championship games on Friday.
