WYNNE — Wynne Lady Jackets softball will host a skills camp for wee-ball through 12U tomorrow Wednesday, March 27.
Weather pending, the event will be held on the softball fields at the Wynne Sports Complex. In case of inclement weather, the skills camp will be moved to the fieldhouse.
“Basically we’re going to be teaching fundamentals and the love of the game,” said Wynne softball coach Ashley Busby. “We’re going to have lots of different drills that the kids will be able to take home and lots of competitive games that we’re going to be playing.”
The skills camp will be broken into two sessions.
“The first session will be from 9 a.m. to noon for our older group – 8U, 10U, and 12U,” Busby said. “We’re going to put an emphasis on girls who want to learn how to pitch. It’s a really good time before their season kicks off and their pre-season tournament… Also if girls want to be catchers.”
The cost of that session is $45. There will also be a session for wee-ballers, tee-ballers, and 6U from 1-2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The cost for that session is $25. There is a $5 discount for players who are registered to play in the Wynne leagues.
Pre-registration is recommended, but walk-ups will be accepted.
