JONESBORO, Ark. — The Jonesboro City Council has approved the purchase of a former Shelter Insurance location on Highland Drive for a facility for the Jonesboro Police Department.
The 14,418-square-foot building will serve as a temporary police facility and is in addition to the Jonesboro Police Department’s headquarters on Caraway Road.
The building will house 30 offices, two conference rooms and an enclosed garage. The facility will cost nearly $2.7 million.
The city is using a short-term Act 78 loan for the project.
