FORREST CITY — Johnson Media Group has acquired Delta OfficeWorks in a move that reunites two of Forrest City’s oldest businesses.
JMG, owned by Rob and Tamara Johnson, purchased Times-Herald Publishing, St. Francis County’s oldest established business, in the fall 2024, returning the newspaper to local, family ownership. The Times-Herald began publishing in 1871. Delta OfficeWorks, formerly Times-Herald Printing and Office Products, is owned by Kevin and Weston Lewey. Delta OfficeWorks was formed after the Leweys sold the newspaper in the fall of 2016.
The newspaper and printing company were previously owned by the late Bonner McCollum, who opened the printing company in 1978 to complement the newspaper’s publishing services. The business grew into its own operation and opened in its current location at 703 E. Garland St., in 1986, just a block east of the newspaper’s headquarters on Izard Street.
“We are proud to announce this move and believe we can continue to grow this business,” said Rob Johnson. “We hope to build on our established relationships within the area and gain additional customers along the way.”
Kevin Lewey has agreed to help the Johnsons through the transition process, which will begin Sept. 1.
“When we decided to sell, I began talking with Rob about the possibility of the newspaper and printing company once again being under the same ownership,” said Lewey. “To us, it seems like a perfect fit.”
“We are not planning to make any changes in the operations at Delta OfficeWorks at this time,” said Johnson. “Jenny Herbert and Christy Jones will oversee the daily operations and serve the needs of our customers. We will also continue making deliveries.”
“Since we closed our press in March and began printing our newspaper offsite, we don’t need as much space to produce our weekly product,” said Times-Herald Publisher Tamara Johnson. “Bringing these businesses back together after so many years feels almost like a full-circle moment. “We have received tremendous support from the community since we purchased the newspaper. We hope that support will continue with our purchase of Delta OfficeWorks.”
“We are pleased to sell Delta OfficeWorks to Rob and Tamara who know the needs of our community and our community knows them,” said Lewey.
The purchase of the printing company will not necessitate any changes to the newspaper’s operations at this time, as the Times-Herald will continue to operate the newspaper at 222 N. Izard.
“We look forward to visiting with our customers at both businesses while continuing to serve the needs of our community,” added Tamara Johnson.
