The I-55 Mississippi River Bridge will be closed for two weeks starting at 8 p.m. Sunday, March 10, for crews to continue construction activities on the I-55 and Crump Boulevard interchange.
During the two-week closure, crews will hydro-demolition the bridge deck and provide a new polymer concrete overlay. The polymer-modified concrete has strict temperature restrictions, and all work is weather-dependent.
The closure will require I-55 southbound at Bridgeport Road in Arkansas, and I-55 northbound at South Parkway in Tennessee to be closed from 8 p.m. Sunday, March 10, through 8 p.m. Sunday, March 24.
The I-55 southbound ramp and Crump Boulevard westbound will also be closed. A detour will be posted.
The closure is the first of two allowed in the contract.
