LITTLE ROCK — Local historian Susan Young of the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History in Springdale will be the guest during Preserve Arkansas’s “Women in Preservation” virtual speaker series today.

Young is a lifelong resident of Fayetteville. She served as the outreach coordinator for the Shiloh Museum for nearly 30 years, retiring in 2021. She is a recipient of the Washington County Historical Society’s Distinguished Citizen Award and the Arkansas Historical Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Young also serves on several boards, including the Historic Cane Hill, Heritage Trail Partners, and the Butterfield National Historic Trail Association.

The “Women in Preservation” virtual speaker series features women from a variety of backgrounds who are working to save historic places in Arkansas and across the country. All programs are free and usually take place on the second Tuesday of the month.

Tomorrow’s talk will begin at 3:30 p.m. and will be available over Zoom and YouTube.
