Harrisburg man, two others plead guilty in meth smuggling case

EASTERN ARKANSAS — A Harrisburg man and two others have pleaded guilty for their roles in smuggling large amounts of methamphetamine from Mexico into northeast Arkansas.

The suspects, 30-year-old William Andrew Jones of Harrisburg, 57-year-old Jerry Oscar Crump of Jonesboro, and 43-year-old Kenneth David Savoie of Searcy, were among 13 people indicted by a federal grand jury in April 2024. Most had already entered guilty pleas and were awaiting sentencing.

The investigation began in the spring of 2023 when a residence on National Drive in Jonesboro was identified as a drug house by federal and state authorities.

Agents reportedly used electronic surveillance equipment to track the suspects as far west as San Diego, California.
