HOXIE, Arkansas — A group is seeking the recall of Hoxie Mayor Dennis Coggins.
The group wants to put the issue on the November 5 general election ballot, with the recall decided by voters in Hoxie.
To make the ballot, the signatures of 289 registered city voters is required.
Mayor Coggins took office in 2022. Among the complaints cited by the group is an alleged failure by the city to fulfill numerous Freedom of Information requests.
Mayor Coggins said he is doing the best job he can, and believes people outside the city are pushing for the initiative.
The cost of a recall election is expected to be around $16,000.
