MEMPHIS — Two-time NBA All-Star Ja Morant is leaving the Memphis Grizzlies after seven seasons with the organization.
Morant, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, was traded Monday to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Jerami Grant and Kris Murray.
During his time in Memphis, Morant earned Rookie of the Year honors, won Most Improved Player in 2022, and was named to the All-NBA Second Team that same season.
He averaged 22.4 points, 7.4 assists, 4.6 rebounds, and one steal per game with the Grizzlies and remains the franchise’s all-time leader in points per game and triple-doubles.
Morant appeared in just 79 games over the past three seasons due to injuries and off-court issues.
