WYNNE — The Good Shepherd Center will soon be receiving new digs.
David Butler, director of the Good Shepherd Center, said the construction of a new facility is nearing completion.
“This is the culmination of a dream that’s coming true. We’re seeing the results of a lot of patience and a lot of challenges through the years,” Butler said. “Hopefully, the new building will be ready for us to occupy here in the very near future. It’s completely in the dry. The air conditioning and the heating still have to be put in. Electrical has to be run, but it’s in the dry.”
The new location for the Good Shepherd Center will be at 409 Arkansas Street across from Crestpark.
Butler said donations can be made to the Good Shepherd Center for the project as well as for general operations of the center.
“They can either bring it by the Shepherd, or at their convenience, they can drop it in the mail,” Butler said. “Right now, I don’t have one of the programs where you can send it digitally. Our post office box is P.O. Box 811. If you send it to the physical address, we don’t monitor that mailbox, so just send it to the post office box if you want to send a donation.
“If you have a loved one or a friend that passes away, or any way you want to make a memorial contribution or any type of contribution, you can always do that,” he added. “We can furnish you receipts for that that you can give to your tax accountant or whatever. We will also notify the family that somebody has contributed to your loved one.”
Butler said the Good Shepherd Center holds a weekly food distribution for eligible participants each Tuesday.
The center is currently located at 303 E. Union Ave., next to Kernodle Funeral Home.
