JONESBORO, Ark. — Two area fire department projects funded through the East Arkansas Planning and Development District in Jonesboro are underway.
EAPDD has announced construction has begun on the new Parkin fire station. The agency is administering funds for the project through the Arkansas Economic Development Commission’s Community Development Block Grant program.
In a social media post, EAPDD said the new station is “a welcomed investment in the health and safety of the Parkin community.”
The agency also participated last week in a grant signing for the City of Harrisburg. The city was recently awarded $57,811 for fire department equipment through the Arkansas Economic Development Commission’s Rural Services Block Grant program.
