FORREST CITY — East Arkansas Community College will host a Community Open House from 4:30-6:30 p.m. tonight (Thursday) in the Fine Arts Center in Forrest City.
Lindsay Midkiff, director of public relations and community programs at EACC, said the event will serve as a “one-stop shop” for prospective students.
“Our programs set up booths all throughout the Fine Arts Center and then we also have representatives from advising, admissions, financial aid, student service areas,” Midkiff said. “Everyone is in one location and can help interested students, anyone else to get everything they need taken care of to attend school.”
Midkiff said current students and interested community members are also invited to attend. Information will be provided on updates to the FAFSA and concurrent enrollment for high school students.
“If you’re not sure if you want to attend college, if you’re not sure about your career path, we have representatives from all of our programs. Our instructors will be there to show different types of equipment, different things that you’ll learn in specific classes, through programs. Explain about the different types of jobs you can get once you finish your certificate or degree program,” she said. “It’s just a great way for prospective, current students can come out and get registered for the upcoming semester. Everyone can just attend and get all the help that they need.”
The EACC Fine Arts Center is located at 1700 Newcastle Road in Forrest City.
