CHERRY VALLEY — Carey Wagoner Robertson recently conducted a poultry science workshop for the Delta Ridge 4-H Club. Other clubs and members in other counties attended the workshop at Kent and Stacy Witcher’s farm. The adults learned as much as the kids.

Attendees learned about poultry anatomy, egg freshness, incubation stages, the difference between pet and show chickens, bio-security precautions, egg candling, and more. The meeting was sponsored by the Cross County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee. Hot dogs and fixings were provided.

Cathy Helton from Delta Farm Products LLC provided chick care flyers to prepare 4-Hers for their upcoming poultry chain chicks. Special thanks to Kent Witcher for getting the shop clean, and manning the grill during the event.
